Fall Cards for Operation Write Home
These are the cards I'm mailing to Operation Write Home this month, just a small box of fall themed cards of which about twenty are for service members to mail back home to their children. I normally only make Christmas, birthday, and general (thinking of you, just a note, and blank) cards for this organization but wanted to try making fall cards.

Reverse Iris Folding Cards
The instructions for making these cards are found under the "Operation Write Home" web site. You will also find over 100 card templates with the measurements for the A2 size cards they prefer. Unfortunately, I misread the instructions so the first card was a little wonky.

Donna's Last Open House
Alas, Donna is moving out of Florida to become a Georgia girl!! Today was her last event. She couldn't leave without giving us one last technique class on how to make ribbon roses. NOT easy! First I rolled and twisted the ribbon from the left, then I rolled and twisted it from the right and made a mess of them both (the examples below are Donna's rose). This is a 5.5 inch by 8.5 inch card. The ribbon was 1/2 inch grosgrain.

This card was in a free brochure I found at Hobby Lobby, called "Creating Cards with Punches". On the back of the brochure were these links: www.hobbylobby.com and www.gettinspiredbyhl.com and this 'product #' Scrapbooking - 266106
I'll probably be copying some of the other fifteen card ideas shown.

Pear Pizzazz, Perfect Plum, and Baja Breeze
About a week ago I received an email from Pals Paper Arts (www.palspaperarts.com) concerning their latest cardmaking challenge using these three Stampin' Up colors.

The two cards are different because I didn't have enough of the colors called for in the challenge to even enter. I used a different green (one with the tiny white dots is from a package of Pooch & Sweetheart Dimensional Stickers embellishments I purchased some time ago); the darker green paper with larger white dots is from a Christmas stack and was left over from making Christmas album pages for my sons' families; the blue jumbo rick rack was left over from making Little Dresses for Africa; and the little flowers were premade with the rhinestone centers. I did use Perfect Plum by Stampin' Up to stamp the sentiment on the top part of the card. I had just enough scraps to make two cards of each style.
