New DMC Color Infusions Products

While in Michael's yesterday, I ran across a new product from DMC called "Color Infusions".  The only items from this new product line, unfortunately, carried by Michael's is the "Memory Thread".  Picking up the free craft brochure, which was also the only one available, showed several cards using the Memory Thread and Cotton Cord (which Michael's doesn't carry) so I substituted #5 DMC Perle Cotton.  The instructions are clear and easy to follow.  Handling the perle cotton was a little tricky as the one-inch circle with the punched holes was so small.  Hopefully, some day I'll run across the "Sparklers" from DMC.

Stampin' Up Large Card Gallery for 2012

Today's Stampin' Up card gallery created by Donna and Emily featured large 5"x7" cards.

Wonder who the lucky little guy is who will get this card on his next birthday???

The big guy who will be celebrating his 71st birthday in two weeks will get this card!

Smart Art Card

This is the card featured on the Smart Art blog for this week. I made several different versions. Seems to be a great way to use up some of those scraps we always seem to save from other projects. The background cards were dark gray and light gray although the photo here seems to be a bluesh hue and the other is pinkish.

March Secret Pen Pal Card

This image is one I found by doing a search in Google for a leprechaun. It showed up in as a free clip art by Phillip Martin. I printed and cut out each one, mounted them on 'woggles', then sponged the card front for the sky and grass with a scrubbing action. The inside of the card says, "When I think of YOU, I could dance a JIG!".

2012 Stampin' Up All Occasion Card Gallery

All of the cards we made today were using some of the Occasion Mini-Catalog and Sale-a-bration products. I forgot to take my camera and had to take the photos of my version of some of the cards. One card is missing because I totally messed it up when I was trying to use an edge punch on it. I'll have to redo the card. The cards should fill your screen if you click on the photo to get a better, close up look.

2012 Stampin' Up Sale-a-bration Occasions Mini Catalog Open House

I attended Donna's Open House today and made this card using stamps from the mini catalog Apothecary Art set; the cardstock and ink are Razzleberry, the embossing folder is "Framed Tulips" from Stampin' Up. As usual, I found a lot of items I want (need??).

Secret Pen Pal Valentine's Card

This card was not easy! It was stamp a heart in one color; wipe off that color, then stamp with another color, eight times for each card. I didn't want the stamped hearts to be in exactly the same color order on all the cards (why do I do this to myself???). Then after writing each word on every card in a different color, in a different order, I discovered I had stamped the critter a little too high from the bottom of the cards, even after adding the 'legs', and now had to add a second row of 'grass' that I cut with scissors by hand.
